Jiangsu-Australia Educational Centre
Jiangsu-Australia Educational Centre, set up by the JPDE, is a training base for teachers. The Centre is jointly run by the Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) for mutual educational exchange and development. Founded in 2005, the center is aimed at expanding educational cooperation between China and Australia and accelerating the internationalization process of education in Jiangsu.
The Centre is located in Brisbane, Australia, within close proximity of the city center. It enjoys convenient transportation network, making it suitable for conducting training, research and visits. The headquarters of the Centre is located in the QUT campus where there are various teaching and living facilities. Visiting groups are accommodated at friends' local homes, which ensure effective teaching, learning and living environment. Supported by QUT, the Centre develops different teaching and training programs. For training sessions, all types of QUT classrooms are available for use. The largest classrooms can seat 350 people simultaneously, and all the classrooms are well-equipped with teaching tools. All trainees can have access to all campus facilities, including libraries, canteens, restaurants, sports centers and school buses.
Since the implementation of the teacher training programs, the Jiangsu-Australia Educational Center has developed and run several programs including 'Training Program for English Teachers from Primary and Secondary Schools', 'Training Program for the Teachers of English from Higher Education Institutions', 'Training Program for the Teachers of English from Secondary Vocational Schools', and 'Training Program for the Newly Graduated Students from Normal Universities and Colleges'.
