A group of international medical students got a hands-on introduction to traditional Chinese medicine on June 4, as they spent a day rooting out herbs in the mountain forests near Nanjing, Jiangsu province.
Under the guidance of doctors and experts from local hospitals and the Nanjing University of Chinese Medicine, the 35 students learned how to identify useful herbs and the medical properties of each plant, gaining a useful insight into China’s 2,500-year-old medical tradition.
They were also eager to share their connections to China and TCM.
