Jiangsu University was the focus of a major education event on June 24, as the school’s president, Yan Xiaohong, explained how the university has become a top choice for overseas students looking to study in China.
The Fourth International Forum on Industry and Education, held in Zhumadian, Henan province, was attended by many education experts and senior officials from around the world.
According to Yan, Jiangsu University’s key to winning international recognition has been its focus on building strong links with local industry, plus its close cooperation with a wide range of institutions.
The school has established cooperative relationships with 128 colleges and institutes from 33 countries and regions, opened a Confucius Institute and a Chinese and German language center at the University of Graz, and set up various global research centers on agriculture and food science.
“We have established an educational alliance, combining the efforts of more than 50 export-oriented enterprises and several teaching-research-production-targeted foreign colleges,” Yan said.
