Jiangsu-Manchester Center for International Educational Development is one of the four overseas teacher training bases for the Jiangsu Provincial Department.  The center provides an excellent opportunity for the primary and secondary school teachers as well as the school administrators from the Jiangsu Province, to exchange teaching resources and to do research in education and teaching reforms.

Covering a space of 3,000 square meters, the center is situated in the southwest of Manchester, 2 kilometers away from the city center, 10-minute drive from Manchester University and Manchester Metropolitan University, and 5-minute drive from the world-famous football club – the Manchester United. Jiangsu-Manchester Center enjoys decent transportation and hence is suitable for running a wide range of training programs and relevant investigating and visiting activities. Possessing the full-time professional faculty and service team as well as the advanced hardware facilities, the center is capable of meeting the demands from all kinds of trainees. Cooperating with the JPDE, the Bureau of Education in Manchester and the local universities, the center has hosted 18 study tour groups of nearly 2000 students from Jiangsu, for summer or winter camping in the UK, and has running the training and academic exchange programs for approximately 1500 English teachers, core teachers from various subjects and school administrators, which has earned itself accordant appreciation from both Chinese teachers and educational peers in the UK.

• Brisbane, Australia 

Jiangsu-Australia Educational Centre is a training base for teachers by the JPDE. This Centre is an international institution for educational developments jointly run by the Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange (JESIE) and the Queensland University of Technology (QUT). Founded in 2005, the center aims at expanding the educational cooperation between China and Australia and accelerating the internationalization process of Jiangsu Education.

The Centre locates in Brisbane, Australia, adjacent to the city centre, possessing convenient and fast traffic, which is suitable for undertaking trainings, investigations and visiting activities in all kinds. The headquarters of the Centre is located on the campus of QUT where teaching and living facilities are fully provided. The accommodations of the visiting groups are arranged in the local homes of friends, which can guarantee the effective teaching and learning and a comfortable life. Supported by QUT, the Centre develops different programs of teaching and training. During the training session, all types of classrooms in QUT are available to use. The largest classroom can hold 350 people simultaneously and all the classrooms are equipped with electronic projectors, recording and reproducing equipments and computers for teaching. All the trainees can have access to all the facilities on campus including the libraries, canteens, restaurants, sports stadiums, school buses, etc.

Since the implementation of the teacher training programs, the Jiangsu-Australia Educational Center has developed and run several programs successfully including ‘Training Program for the English teachers from the Primary and Secondary schools’, ‘Training Program for the Teachers of English from Institutions of Higher Education’, ‘ Training Program for the Teachers of English from Secondary Vocational Schools’, and ‘Training Program for the Newly Graduated Students from Normal Universities and Colleges’, etc.

• Toronto, Canada 

With the strong support of the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education and funded by Jiangsu Provincial Educational Development & Investment Co. Ltd., SuOn College, located in Toronto, Canada, is an international educational organization managed by Jiangsu Education Services for International Exchange. Founded in 2007, SuOn College functions as an educational and collaborative bridge between China and North America.

SuOn College is jointly run by the Jiangsu Provincial Department of Education, the Ontario government and the Ontario Ministry of Higher Education and currently cooperates with the University of Toronto, York University, the University of Waterloo in Canada, and Lawrence Technical University in the United States.

The teacher training program and other programs in North America began in 2008, and were managed by some educational consortiums. Collaboration with Lawrence Technical University began in 2003 and has laid a solid foundation for teacher training and other exchange programs in the United States.

SuOn College is located near the city center, which is easily accessible using Toronto’s public transportation system. It is also close to the University of Toronto and York University, which makes it a suitable base for running various training programs, study tours, and educational visits. SuOn College has a 10-story headquarters building with a floor space of ​​3,000 square meters. The entire collegiate area is approximately 11,000 square meters, and is divided into a fully-equipped teaching zone and a residential zone. Both are fully furnished with the latest equipment and facilities.
